How Much Does It Cost to Publish a Book in 2020
I self published my book Love is the Law and in this article I want to share the truth about how much did I actually invest and spent, and I also share with you my tips How to Publish Like a Pro in 2020 and How Much Does It Cost.

    Invest & Hire a Professional Team

I highly recommend to invest in a professional editor, type-setter, graphic designer, book cover designer, photographer, and marketing team.

The cost for hiring a pro team can vary.

    EDITOR

I have actually hired 5 different editors. The reason was simply. I wasn’t happy with the outcome. So, I had to hire another editor and another, etc. I realized that there are many editors acting like a Pro, therefore, you need to be extra careful who to hire and I highly suggest to look for a Pro Editor, instead of finding somebody cheap on Fiverr.com. It’s just not worth it.

So, what’s the optimal cost for editor? Well, it depends on your manuscript and what type of editing job you’re looking for. I’d say 1K-5K can be a fair price.

    TYPESETTER

Besides the editor you will need to hire a typesetter.Who is a typesetter? Those are the people who are going to organize the layout and interior of the book. You can get this job done for $200, $300 especially if you are using Fiverr or Upwork

    BOOK DESIGNER

I highly suggest to invest into a pro BOOK COVER DESIGNER. This job can be done for 100 USD – 500 USD. If you need to take a new pictures of your face, you need to hire a professional photographer. This can be done for 300 USD – 500 USD.

    Protect Your Rights

Registration of your copyright is the first thing to do when planning a launch. I believe I have paid $50.

    MARKETING BUDGET

The marketing budget is separate budget that you need to consider. It can be anywhere from 5K – 20K+. It depend on you how big you want to go. Besides that, you want to hire probably assistant or a social media manager who is going to help you with your content. Because you going to be using social media for your launch and prelaunch.

If you are just starting out, then I would say try to hire a small and affordable team, you can use platforms like Fiverr or Upwork. You can find people from different countries that are more affordable. However, when you do that, you want to make sure that you are working with professionals.
